Additions and modernisation of this family home

The Brief: To add a bedroom, bathroom, study, 2 store rooms and a covered upstairs patio. I addition the pool area needed to be paved, the house required repainting inside and out and the cornices need to be replaced. Bios was required to project management from start to finish.

The Project: This 3-month project involved building two large flat roof concrete slabs over the first floor with a cantilever cast slab roof over the upstairs patio to provide maximum views. The completed work included:

• Adding a large bedroom with ensuite bathroom over the existing garage
• Building a cantilever concrete flat roof over the existing upstairs balcony
• Replacing windows in the lounge and downstairs study, waterproofing and cladding the walls
• Chopping the tiles up around the pool and adding pavers
• Building an upstairs store room with pitched tiled roof
• Building a outside storeroom with pitched tiled roof
  • Closing in entrance hall void and building a study in new space created upstairs
• Installing air conditioning in the bedrooms
• Repainting the house inside and out.
• Fitting a number of new wooden sliding patio doors
• Slab waterproofing
