The Brief: To modernise this 400m² Bryanston house inside and out, open up the interior to create flowing living spaces, add room space, build a patio and a rim-flow pool. Full project management from start to finish.
The Project: This 4-month initiative involved everything from foundations and slab rooves to plumbing, electrical, tiling and security solutions. To extend the existing rooms, the roof line had to be altered, part of the roof removed and the new roof layout installed. The completed work included:
- Chopping all the rough old fashioned plaster off the exterior of the house and replastering with a smooth finish
- Cutting the roof line back, removing the old facia boards and fitting modern verge tiles and painting the roof
- Breaking out interior walls to create flowing interleading living spaces
- Stripping 3 bathrooms and refitting them with modern sanitaryware and tiles
- Building a modern water feature at the front entrance
- Paving the driveway
- Removing all the windows and fitting new aluminium windows, sliding doors and stacking doors
- Fitting new pivot front door
- Tiling the floors
- Installing laminate floors in threee rooms
- Installing gas piping, cylinders and cylinder housing
- Carpeting the master and second bedrooms
- Building a new patio with skylight and retaining wall to a support rim-flow pool
- Building a rim-flow pool and paving around the pool
- Cladding the fireplace and water feature
- New gutters for the entire house
- Underfloor heating installation
- Painting the entire house and roof
